Trusted by companies operating in Indonesia
What you get
- An independent opinion on your financial statements
- Testing of balances and transactions proportionate to the risks in your business
- A management letter identifying control weaknesses found along the way — often the most useful output
- A clear timetable, so the audit does not collide with your other year-end obligations
External audit Indonesia engagements give you an independent opinion on your financial statements — for the regulator where it is required, and for the bank, investor or parent company that has asked for one.
When you need one
Some Indonesian companies must be audited by law, based on size and other criteria — which companies must be audited sets out the test in full. Many more are audited because somebody with leverage asked: a lender before extending facilities, an investor before committing, a parent company consolidating group accounts.
If you are unsure which applies to you, that is the first question to settle — the answer changes how you should be keeping your records all year, not just at year end.
An important point about independence
The firm that keeps your books cannot independently audit them. That is not a technicality; it is the entire basis on which an audit opinion means anything.
Where we do your bookkeeping, the audit is handled with the separation that independence requires — and we will explain exactly how before you engage us for both. Any firm that is vague on this point is telling you something.
Why MAM for External audit
- Registered with IAPI
MAM is registered with IAPI, the Institut Akuntan Publik Indonesia, and a member of IAI — the bodies that set and enforce the standards an Indonesian audit is conducted to.
- The fieldwork is not outsourced
The audit work is done by MAM staff, who are qualified auditors. An audit subcontracted to a third party is an audit whose working papers you cannot ask anyone about.
- Who does the work, and who signs it
The audit is performed by MAM. The report is signed by the licensed public accounting firm (KAP) MAM works with, as Indonesian requirements provide — so both are settled before you start rather than discovered at the end.
Qualified, and accountable for it
MAM's work is done by qualified accountants and carried out to the standards of these professional bodies — not by a general administrator following a checklist.
